Bo and I met at Possum Kingdom Lake (PK) during spring break of 1991. We reconnected in May 2012 when we spread my Dad’s ashes at the lake. We went to Buckets and Boots PK Fire Fundraiser for our first date, and Bo proposed to me on the porch of our PK condo. Our grandparents had houses right across the lake from each other! We have a lot of ties and memories here at PK, and it has always been home to us.
My grandparents’ lake house was just down the way from Scuba Point, which opened in 1960. I remember my Dad, uncle, and granddad grabbing gear from there when they lost their keys in the lake or went spear fishing. Don and Ruth Zahn bought Scuba Point from the Davis family in 2009 and turned it into an RV park. Sadly, Don died of cancer in early 2014. Bo and I were on a walk when we saw the “For Sale” sign. We arranged to look at it and it seemed like the perfect joint venture for us newlyweds!
We decided to name it Lush Resort in loving memory of our sweet and spoiled Maltese who loved hibiscus and the lake life. With a name like Lush, we have grand plans and have made tons of improvements:
Winter 2014 - added a five-slip floating courtesy dock with five jet ski ports, opened a gym, remodeled the lakefront pool, added a beach, new landscaping & opened a beer and wine Bar overlooking the lake
Winter 2015 - built a new lakefront, luxury Suite Hotel
Winter 2016 - opened a glass-enclosed lakefront bar and grill with full liquor license, expanded the dock to 8 boat slips and 4 yacht slips
Winter 2017 - built 11 hotel rooms and 4 bungalows, added 2 more pools, new spa facility with 2 massage rooms, and new chef with a lush menu!
Winter 2018 - G & Bo are taking a break from construction!!!

Meet the Lush Team
Walter Steele joined the Lush Team in 2017 to manage our Bar & Grill. His vast experience has allowed us to transform our little beer & wine bar into a full-service Bar & Grill. Walter brings professional expertise from managing Uncle Julio's and Ihop giving our patrons the best dining experience.
Wendy Steele opened Lush Spa in 2017 offering massage therapy. Wendy has over 20 years of experience from working at Neiman's Spa to running her own business. You deserve a massage today! 817-300-7399
Chef Serge Devesa originally from Marseille, France, graduated from Sisteron Hotel School at just 19 years old. He worked at the famous Michelin star restaurant L’Etoile d’Or at Hotel Concorde Lafayette in Paris. He was Chef de Cuisine instructor at the Pacific Institute in Vancouver. He then moved to Vietnam expanding his culinary skills. He has worked all over America—New York, Miami, Minnesota, Washington DC and in 2016, he became Executive Chef of the prestigious Argyle Club in San Antonio. Serge returned to New York to work at Loews Regency Hotel on Park Avenue.
When this opportunity at Lush Resort arose, he was thrilled to return to Texas where he feels most at home! Recognitions: Philanthropic Culinary Society, Maitre Cuisinier de France, Gold Medal of French Culinary Academy
Tracy Botkin helped us open Lush in 2015 and she is well-known and loved at PK! With over 25 years experience from Wildcatter, Graham Country Club, Harbor and more we are honored to have her serving and caring for our patrons!
